Perspective...

Sometimes a healthy dose of perspective goes a long way. I've been pretty grumpy lately, mostly thinking of myself and how daily events impact me. Well, guess what? Everything is not about me. I know, how unfortunate.

Ha! How ironic to be writing about that in a BLOG. Silly.

Anyway, I don't feel like elaborating on the topic... but guess what I've been doing this weekend!!??

Went to an Action Packed Thrill Ride show on Thursday, an Old Radio show last night, will be riding horses today, and climbing one of the Flatirons tomorrow. Kick. Ass.

Jeremiah and I cleaned the basement yesterday and then watched Up. Two more highly satisfying experiences, I'd say.

My computer broke yesterday too. NOT a satisfying experience. I'll update ya'll further when I resuscitate my life and love. Until then.

EEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I went to the National Western Stock Show yesterday and had so much darn tootin', good ol' fashioned, snake in my cowboy boot FUN!! We were hangin with Spencer's mum and crew because she is one of the show jumping competitors. J and I had never been to a show before and let me tell ya, it was badass. I fall more and more in love with horses as I continue to be exposed to them.

I went to the stock show with Jeremiah's family a couple weeks ago to see the Mexican rodeo and that was also very interesting. Western and English riding are so completely different--it's been totally fascinating for me to get a taste of both.

At the Mexican rodeo. Jethro, Sima, Debbie and Jeff. The rodeo was a bit gimmicky to be honest. Over the top announcers and skits. I look forward to going to a real rodeo for a more authentic experience.
This was at the western art exhibit. My favorite painting and artist. The colors are absolutely amazing--blues, oranges, reds, and yellows aren't necessarily colors you'd expect a painter to use on a horse but Sophy Brown made it happen. I LOVE IT!
Each of these paintings sold for over $10,000. Spector and Downtown.
Downtown is huge--18 hands tall.
Hilary's ribbons--she'd gotten first the night before. Spencer's mom!! This is exactly what Spencer used to do.
Jar of pickles=Love.
Arena.
Jump.

Trying to fit in w/ the cowboys!

Today...

Today is an absolutely beautiful day here in Denver. Jeremiah and I just got back from the park, where we basked in the sun while the Canadian geese, seagulls, ducks, and pigeons cooed and squaked about. Prior to that, we woke up, Jeremiah did some bidding, and guess what??? He won and now we have a big, new house to fix up and move into!!! I'm so extremely proud of Jeremiah as he's been working relentlessly to find the perfect new home for us.

The good news this morning was certainly welcome. Last night was rough, to say the least. Really terrible, actually. My highschool boyfriend is engaged. I know the reasons for my being upset are mostly selfish... BUT it was probably good for me to freak out a bit, get all those negative emotions out, and make room for acceptance and most of all, HOPE.

I haven't blogged as much as I should. There is so much to tell and show. Stay tuned friends.

tangled; we weave...

This is what I tried to embed in my last post... I know this guy Eric and he and some girl Jenny were featured at the Hot Congress show for their project tangled; we weave. I like it a lot:

Fifteen from Jenny and Eric on Vimeo.

Chester Molester...

New friend Rennie was wearing a cut-off Reba McEntire t-shirt and sporting a healthy mustache for NYE and Ned called him Chester Molester... It was pretty fitting. I just wanted to put that out there so I wouldn't forget.
So anyway, here are some pictures!!
This was at an Old Radio show a while back @ Lion's Lair.

Mark kept it fresh w/ his pink sweatahh.Favorite!!No more pictures, please. This was SUCH a fun show--the first Jeremiah had played in over a year--DRAGONWAGON!Achille Lauro at the HOT CONGRESS show.
