I went to the National Western Stock Show yesterday and had so much darn tootin', good ol' fashioned, snake in my cowboy boot FUN!! We were hangin with Spencer's mum and crew because she is one of the show jumping competitors. J and I had never been to a show before and let me tell ya, it was badass. I fall more and more in love with horses as I continue to be exposed to them.
I went to the stock show with Jeremiah's family a couple weeks ago to see the Mexican rodeo and that was also very interesting. Western and English riding are so completely different--it's been totally fascinating for me to get a taste of both.
At the Mexican rodeo. Jethro, Sima, Debbie and Jeff.

The rodeo was a bit gimmicky to be honest. Over the top announcers and skits. I look forward to going to a real rodeo for a more authentic experience.

This was at the western art exhibit. My favorite painting and artist. The colors are absolutely amazing--blues, oranges, reds, and yellows aren't necessarily colors you'd expect a painter to use on a horse but Sophy Brown made it happen. I LOVE IT!

Each of these paintings sold for over $10,000.

Spector and Downtown.

Downtown is huge--18 hands tall.

Hilary's ribbons--she'd gotten first the night before.

Spencer's mom!! This is exactly what Spencer used to do.

Jar of pickles=Love.

Arena.

Jump.
Trying to fit in w/ the cowboys!
