Ranch! Ranch! Ranch!

Boy, do I have a story for you!!! BUT before I tell you about Jeremiah getting kicked by a horse, here are some older pictures from the ranch.
J's parents are so sweet, a couple weeks after my bday, they surprised me with a cake!

Jeremiah taking his nephew, Eli, for a ride on Jennifer.

Paint, Eli, Jeremiah, Debbie, Cailyn. J's parents, nephew, neice, and Jennifer. Playing with Jeremiah's old toys. Eli is so funny. Jeremiah and his dad are breaking this horse, Samantha. "Breaking" horses is getting them prepared to be saddled, ridden, and reliable. It's easy to forget how much work it takes to get a horse ready to ride but Jeff has been working with Samantha since she was born to get her ready for NOW! At this point, Sam is used to human contact, being caught, the blanket, saddle, and running in circles based on comands. Running in circles gets her used to going a certain direction based on the tilt of her head, among other things. Samantha has learned that a clicking of the tongue means go and "Whoa" means stop. She's such a goof, very spunky and unafraid. I'm quite sweet on Sam. I look legitimately challenged in this picture BUT! it was the first time I took Sherman out by myself so the moment had to be documented. Contrary to what I'm doing here, you always hold the reigns with your left hand so you can do other stuff with your right. Like shoot a gun! This was the week before Easter so egg coloring was in order. Cailyn, Eli and J's sister, Jaime.

Some of the finished product.

Trying to look tough. B'frand.

Previously written: I've been going to the ranch a lot lately and I couldn't be happier. I really love it there. If I had the choice, I'd quit my job, move to Larkspur, and learn how to be a real cowgirl/ranch-hand. BUT! Until then, I'll stick with my current life working 25 hrs/week at the bank and getting ready to move into the new house.

Whack...

Dude, weather in Denver is sooooo whack. Yesterday was absolutely beautiful, the best weather I've seen in months--I lied out on the new deck, getting the perfect hint of sunburn. Today it started raining midday and is now set to snow 17 inches. Talk about fickle! I had to steel an umbrella from work just to walk to my car!

In other news, I officially got time off to go to the KENTUCKY DERBY!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited! My friend Russ's parents live in Louisville and pretty much hooked us up for that weekend. As you know, I'm obsessed with horses so the vaca will be extra extra extra special.

Here are some pictures from my birthday, random weekends, and Glenwood Springs:

The jim jims, Chris's last show.
Seth and Eva.
Jerebear. This was at a play for my birthday. Eventide.
At the Cruise Room after.
I don't know the guy but I like this pic.
Frands: Jere, Morg, Spence, Jon Paul.
Fanny-pack, suspenders.
Russ.
The lambs, Spencer...
Another weekend in Josh's garage.
I really want a "woody" like this in the new house.
Travis and Shane.
Josh!
Old Radio! Jeremiah and I went to Glenwood Springs, a mountain town, for Valentine's weekend. The weather was awful driving up.
J is obsessed with old gunfighters/cowboys etc. So, we decided to hang with Doc Holliday for a bit.
Ha, the weather was nice when we got there.
Hot tub!The day we left we had a spa treatment where they painted mud all over us and wrapped us up in foil like a burrito!! It was awesome. We also spent some time in the vapor caves where the heat coming from the ground was palpable. The air was literally thick with heat. Another jim jims show with Evee and Morg.
I like these pictures.
I really liked my bow. The living room.
